chipotle is better. and cheaper. freebirds is totally overrated by trendy college kids who go there to eat at 3 am when nothing else is open. first time i went there, the lady wasn't even wearing gloves. i saw her touch the cheese that she sprinkled on my burrito and god knows if her hands were clean or not. that pretty much kept me from ever going there again. the taste is pretty much like a second-class chipotle. ambiance is actually a lot better at chipotle too, and the employees wear GLOVES. WHAT A CONCEPT. chipotle's flavorful cilantro lime rice vs. freebird's mexican-rice-a-roni generic mexican rice. their guac is basically the same except chipotle's is more fresh. their burritos also LOOK the same size, but chipotle's are more filling. after chipotle, i'm bursting full. after freebirds i can still eat more. freebird's beans are also generic canned refried beans you can get from like... the grocery store... chipotle's beans are flavorul and their pinto beans are actually cooked with bacon yum. and freebirds is also like 50c to $1 more expensive depending on what you get so i don't see why you would go to freebirds instead of chipotle other than convenience, or because freebirds is open and chipotle is not. not saying its a bad burrito... if you've never had chipotle, you'd probably be thrilled by freebirds. so on my list of best burrito places. 1. chipotle. 2. super cucas. 3. freebirds. so they don't taste bad or anything... their just not "OMFG LYK THESE ARE THE BEST BURRITOS EVER"

I really love their food, burritos are excellent, nachos the bomb, tacos breathtaking. The Mexican workers are humble, respectful, warm and simply trying to make a living. Freebirds, however, does not give a crap about the workers. If you take notice, instead of surveiling the customers they dont' trust the worker so they have cameras pointed at them. Such an awful discriminatory practice. Workers are exploited, vulnerable, alienated labor force. The managers mistreat the workers and do public displays of humiliation. If you eat there do not ruin your meal with such inhumane practices

the burrito is overpriced and the food isn't that good. it's okay when it's the only thing you can walk to when you're a freshmen. it's not very authentic. it's good when your drunk at 3 a.m. when there's nothing else to eat but there's better out there.

This burrito place is impossible to beat. The ingredients are always fresh. The Service is friendly for doing a rather mundane job of putting together burritos all of the time. The only odd thing about this place is how the price changes. You and a friend can order the exact same burrito and end up paying completely different prices at the end. Also on a nice sunny day it is a good place to do a little people watching. All in all a great burrito bar.

Wow. I was hesitant to post a review of this place until I read the existing reviews. Does anyone remember LaJicora? It was the best resturant in all of SB, the best Chile Verde burritos, best rice and beans, best family run service oriented business. Don't get me wrong Freebirds and their football sized burritos are only partly to blame for teaching us that bigger is better and some times cheaper too. It is just that I and many of my friends and family to this day actually fantasize about Taquitos (#13) and Enchiladas from Jesse out at La Jicora. I have not eaten at Freebirds more than two times and that was about 10 years ago.

This place has THE best nacho bar around. They're addictive. It is still an excellent eatery, although it seems a basic fast food joint. You have to be in the mood for this sort of ambiance, and it's not gourmet by any means, but it does exactly what it sets out to do, and well at that. And now they have homemade horchata! Yum.
